L'Occitane Shea Ultra Rich Face Scrub-1

I am one of these people who likes to use lots of different products; my favourites change on a weekly basis. However, one product that I have been a real fan of for around a year now is L’Occitane’s Ultra Rich Face Scrub. I LOVE IT!

From the L’Occitane UK website: “The Ultra Rich Face Scrub has been specially formulated to gently exfoliate dry or very dry skin. Its finely ground nutshells help to efficiently eliminate dead skin cells and impurities. Its creamy base, enriched in shea butter (10%) and chestnut extract, helps the skin to maintain its natural moisture level. Skin is left perfectly clear, smooth and soft. Skin texture is refined and the complexion is more luminous.”

As you will know if you follow my blog, I suffer from dry skin on my face. Because of this, I am a real fan of L’Occitane’s products that are enriched with Shea Butter. The reason that Shea Butter is so good for our skin is because it speeds up skin renewal and keeps the skin well hydrated.

Something I have noticed about some scrubs I have tried is that they can be a little drying on the skin. They might do a good job exfoliating dead skin cells, but afterwards, my skin is left red and a little sore. Whereas with the L’Occitane Ultra Rich Face Scrub, the Shea Butter leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturised (almost like I’ve slapped on some of my fave face cream).

As well as having dry skin, I also suffer from sensitive skin, so I have to be careful of what I use. In the past, facial scrubs have left my face sore and smarting, but not this one. After using this scrub, there’s no smarting or redness, my skin feels fantastic.

The consistency of the scrub is thick and creamy and is enriched with not only Shea Butter, but also chestnut extract. As for the ‘exfoliating beads’, these are actually, finely ground nut shells. Not only are they gentle on your skin, but as they are not made of plastic, there’s no need to worry about the ‘beads’ damaging the environment.

Another reason I am crazy about this scrub is the smell. One thing I hate when it comes to beauty products is items that are over scented. Luckily for me, this facial scrub has a light, subtle scent. The scrub has a wonderfully natural scent – it smells absolutely, divine.

Would I buy it again? Absolutely, as soon as this pot runs out, I will be getting some more. For some reason I couldn’t find the scrub on the L’Occitane website, but you can buy it here, or, you could pop into your local L’Occitane store.
