What Are My Goals For Next Year?

goals

As I am a somewhat new blogger, I thought that to get my blog out there, I would join a couple of link parties. For anyone who doesn’t know what a link party is, it’s basically a simple way to connect with other bloggers, share posts, and get your posts featured on bigger blogs. (Well, hopefully anyway.)

The first party I have decided to join is the lovely Lorey’s, The Weekender link up – I couldn’t be more excited to get involved. This weekend the theme is ‘goals’, something that coincidentally, I have been thinking about a lot recently.

So what are my goals for next year? I’ll be honest, I have a lot of dreams for the next 12 months, and I’m really hoping that they come true. For this post, I’ve decided to split them into two categories; personal goals and blog goals.

Personal goals

I thought I would start off with my personal goals, so here goes.

Reach my target weight. I’m not overweight – my BMI is perfect, but even so, I would like to drop a few pounds. My current weight is 140 pounds, my goal weight would be 133 pounds. There’s not much to lose – only seven pounds until I reach my target, but I always find the last bit of excess weight the hardest to shift. (Wish me luck!)

Be healthier. As well as reaching my target weight, I also want to be healthier in general. I am not someone who exercises regularly – I have always hated exercise, but I want to change that. The sports that I am going to attempt to do each week are badminton, swimming and yoga.

Become more positive. I am one of those people who, for some reason, has a negative mindset. I have always been the same, but over the next few months I plan on changing that. (I’ll make sure to keep you posted.)

Revamp my home. About six months ago, the fiance and I moved to the Devon countryside. While we love our new home, there are still a few bits and pieces that need doing. I am so excited to update a couple of the rooms – the living room and the fiance’s office are the most important places, but right now, money is just too tight. (Sigh.) Hopefully, in the next couple of months we will be able to make these updates.

Clear my overdraft. I am a recent university graduate, which means that I still have my overdraft. I need to get this cleared by this time next year. Otherwise, the interest will make it super hard to pay back.

Blog goals

Okay, that’s my personal goals out the way, so onto my hopes for my blog.

Build my blog. For me, my blog is my career – well it will be eventually, anyway. I hope that in a year or two, I will be able to blog full-time. (It may just be a pipe dream, but a girl can hope, can’t she?)

Reach 1500 Twitter followers. I currently have 989 followers on Twitter, by the middle of 2016 I want to get to at least 1500 followers. (Want to help me out? You can follow me, here!)

Have 800 Instagram followers. At the moment, I have 145 followers on Instagram. In the next four to five months, I want to boost this to 800. My Instagram account is bethmahoney_92, just in case you fancy seeing if I’m worth a follow.

Boost my Bloglovin. For me, this is a real big one. You see, I have over 200 followers on Bloglovin, but my blog only has 21. I would love to boost this to around 300 in the next few months – it’s a big goal, but it’s doable.

So those are my hopes and dreams for the next few months, fingers crossed I am able to reach these goals.

  1. These are awesome goals, girl! I can def see you rocking them! I’m about to move (end of Jan) so I’ll def be looking into some cost effective (aka cheeeeeap!) decorating and diy ideas! Can’t wait to see what all you accomplish!

  2. Good luck with everything, especially with changing your health lifestyle! I have 3.8 pounds until I reach pre-baby weight, and I’d maybe like to lose 5-10 more after that. I’ve already lost 16 pounds since May! I know you can do it; for me, the biggest thing that helps is tracking my food. If I track everything I eat and do it in the mornings, I already know what I’m eating and can see if I have extra calories left for other treats!
