Welcome to day five of the Blogger’s Beauty Brawl

How can it already be day five?! We’re halfway through the Blogger’s Beauty Brawl already…it’s crazy how time flies when you’re having fun. In case you missed my introduction post that explained what the brawl is all about, I’ll just recap below…

The Blogger’s Beauty Brawl is a review series where a team of blogger and I collaborate for 10 days. Each day we review a different product, yesterday was primer day, for example. Ideally, we’re meant to be using products that we’ve never tried before so that it’s as fair as possible. To score our products we will be using Top Trumps cards. Each item will be scored out of 100 for the product itself, the packaging, and the price. It’s as simple as that. You can catch up with all the posts you’ve missed on Twitter by searching #beautybrawl16.

Today it’s PALETTE DAY…

I am eyeshadow mad so I’ve been bouncing off the walls for today. I recently heard about an emerging brand called Technic and how fantastic their products were. After getting in touch with them, I was offered some items to review – I honestly couldn’t have been more excited. Among other things, they sent me their Mega Mattes Eyeshadow Palette, made up of 12 shadow shades in a mixture of nudes and browns.

The shadow picks up well, which is great. It’s easy to apply and blend and seems to last. Despite being powder based, the consistency of the eyeshadow is beautifully buttery. The darker colours are highly pigmented and give a fantastic colour pay off. Like most lighter colours, the shades that are more nude, require an extra couple of layers of shadow to give a good result. Overall though, I’m a big fan.

The packaging is a combination of clear and black plastic, complete with simple text on it. The style reminds me a lot of the simplistic MUR and MUA packaging. It might be simple but it does the job, plus it’s ultra light and compact, making it ideal for travel.

I rarely give 100 out of 100, but for this product I had to. I mean come on, a 12 shade eyeshadow palette for just £1.50 is more than a bargain, it’s amazing. There’s a nice range of colours, the palette is easy to access, and the shadow stays in place well, it’s safe to say it’s a total steal.

Final thoughts

At such a fantastic price, it goes without saying that I would buy this product again. I love the colours, creaminess, and how easy the eyeshadows are to blend. I’m also a big fan of the range of colours.
