How on earth can it already nearly be New Year’s Eve? I feel like 2017 only just started! Nevertheless, I am SUPER excited for the festive season to get into full swing. I love, love, love Christmas and New Year.

I’ve actually been planning what I will wear for New Year for the past few months – I’ve ummed and erred, changed ideas many times, and thought about every single outfit choice, from jumpsuits to dresses.

I’m pleased to say that I am finally New Year’s Eve ready, but are you? In case you still aren’t sure what to wear for New Year, below I have shared a few handy tips that should help to make preparing for the start of 2018, that little bit easier.

Choose a dress that sparkles

For me personally, it isn’t New Year (or Christmas for that matter) without a dress that sparkles, which is why I always opt to purchase a sequin or glittery dress. This year, I have seen SO MANY dresses that I love. However, after doing a lot of shopping around, I settled on one from Quiz’s going out dresses – the dress that I fell in love with was their Red Sequin Diamante Dress. I just love how bright and sparkly this dress design is, as well as how flattering the shape of the dress is!

Go all out with the glitter

As well as wearing lots of glitter and sequins on my clothing at New Year, I also like to add glitter to my makeup. I mean, there’s no such thing as too much glitter, is there? For my nails I like to use one of OPI’s glitter nail polishes – my current favourite is OPI I Reached My Gold, I just love how much glitter is packed into this pot. As for my eyeshadow, I am a huge fan of liquid glitter eyeshadow, with Stila’s Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow being my absolute favourite. However, for a cheaper alternative, NYX do a fantastic dupe!

Pick shoes that you can dance in

New Year’s Eve is all about the dancing, which is why it is important to pick shoes that not only look beautiful, but also that you can dance in! While I love wearing heels, I find that after a few hours my feet start to hurt, whereas if I wear wedges, this doesn’t seem to be the case. So my New Year’s Eve go-to shoe is normally a wedge of some description. If you are dead set on wearing heels, I would recommend getting some gel insoles to help protect your feet from pain while you dance the night away.

So there you have it, my top tips for getting New Year’s Eve ready!
