Christmas is, without a doubt, my favourite time of the year. Not only do I love the day itself, I also enjoy the lead up to it – I mean, there is nothing better than watching Christmas movies, baking mince pies, and drinking A LOT of mulled wine. Another of my favourite parts of the lead up to Christmas is the baking – this year my cousin and I spent a weekend making homemade shortbread, lemon curd, salted caramel, and peppermint and prosecco-strawberry creams to give as gifts.

This Christmas, for the first time ever, I am spending Christmas at home with the fiancé and the pets, just us. Growing up Christmas and New Year were always seen as being a family time, a time when we were all together. But as we’ve got old and my brothers and I have partners of our own, Christmas has changed and sometimes we can’t all be together. This year, because we are all spending Christmas in different places, we had a big family meal on Christmas Eve and it was lovely.

The thing that I am most excited about this Christmas is waking up with my fiancé and spending the day together as a couple, having our first Christmas in our home. When I walk down the stairs of Christmas morning, what I look forward to seeing is the lit up Christmas tree, pile of gifts (not that it’s about the presents), and the table laid up beautifully for breakfast complete with a bottle of prosecco, of course.

But funnily enough, I couldn’t see anything at all without my glasses or contact lenses, which is why when Feel Good Contacts emailed me to ask if I would live to take part in their Christmas campaign, I jumped at the chance. You see, recently I have been wearing my glasses more than my contact lenses and I had started to miss them.

Although I have recently been using two-weekly contact lenses as a pose to daily ones, I decided to try 1 Day Acuvue Moist by Johnson & Johnson. I prefer daily contact lenses as you don’t have to worry about cleaning them or the risk of infection that two-weekly contact lenses can pose.

What I love about these lenses is the fact that they allow oxygen to enter your eye and are made to keep your eyes moist. So many other contact lenses dry my eyes out, but not these ones, these keep my eyes lovely and moist and don’t cause soreness or redness to occur.

Along with my contact lenses order, Feel Good Contacts also sent me a Christmas gift hamper, which was so kind of them. When I opened the hamper I was amazed by the range of gorgeous products in there.

Glitter, glitter everywhere. One of the items that Feel Good Contacts popped into the hamper was a pot of On The Fringe Ravers glitter, which can be used on the body, eyes or nails, and is just SO PRETTY! (When I opened the little pot for the first time, I did not realise how full it would be and showered my jeans in glitter – luckily it’s Christmas and there’s no such thing as too much glitter!)

At Christmas time (and in winter in general) I tend to stick to darker nail polish colours, so these two berry-hued shades from OPI are ideal. Especially as, OPI is my nail polish brand of choice – I love the quality of these polishes, how easy to apply they are, and how wonderfully shiny the finish is! (For extra shine, sometimes I top them with a coat of clear gel nail polish and dry them under my UV nail machine – this makes them less likely to ship and keeps them looking shiny for longer.)

The next item I found in my hamper was a mini perfume spray from Scent & Co, a perfume subscription service that sends out monthly perfume minis – how AMAZING is that?!

Last but not least, I found a box of bath bombs in my hamper from Possibility, which smell incredible, they are so wonderfully fruity and are made to smell like cupcakes, macaroons, and all manner of other desserts. ( The chances are that the fiancé will use these before I get the chance – he’s a total bath bomb addict!)

If you would like to try some new contact lenses, I could not recommend Feel Good Contacts any more highly. The delivery is super fast and they have such an amazing range of lenses to choose from, so they are sure to have the lenses that you need available!
