When I first launched my business, I didn’t have a clear concept of where I wanted my brand to go. All I knew what that I didn’t want to work for someone else, I wanted to run my own business. I wanted to be my own boss. Four years on and that’s exactly what I’m doing – I work for myself running a small content marketing, PR, and social media management business – and I couldn’t be happier.

However, that being said, my business is not quite where I would like it to be just yet. It’s a fantastic business and it’s doing well but there are still areas that I would like to work on and expand into in the future. Even four years in, I still have hopes and dreams for my business – and big ones at that – and so should every business owner. You should constantly be setting new objectives and goals, to give your business the very best chance of success.

Bearing that in mind, the question is: what are my hopes and dreams for my business and how do I plan to achieve them?

Get my own office

I currently work from home – or sometimes I work from freelance working spaces locally which I love – but in time, as my business grows, I would love my own dedicated office. Not just for me, but also for any team members that I take on. Whether there’s three of us or thirty of us, I would like to be able to ensure that we have an exceptional environment to work from, as I know how crucial the right environment is to productivity. I’ve already started browsing the options, and I love the look of solutions like PropList, as the office spaces have the ideal vibe to them, which is exactly what I would like my workplace to be.

Increase my client list

My second aim for my business is to grow my client list further. Currently, there’s enough work for one person, but within the next 12-months, I would like to increase my team to two people, which is why I need to grow my client list. I’ve reaslied that perhaps I am not utilising my marketing channels effectively, and as a result, I have not gained enough new clients. I know that this is something that a lot of small business owners struggle with, as it’s not always easy to make time for your brand, in addition to the brands that you have on your books.

Become a well-known brand

Branding is a key factor for business growth. Small businesses need to increase brand awareness in order to become household names, and that is what I need to do for my business. My brand lacks local and national awareness and this is something that I potentially need to work on. I happen to know that a large percentage of smaller business owners, also struggle with this. Therefore, I would like to find a way to make increasing brand awareness easier for SMEs like my own small business.

Like every business owner, I have a wide range of hopes and dreams for my brand. I am determined to ensure that my business doesn’t plateau and that it actually reaches that goals that I have set for it, and you should do the same.
