I suffer from dry skin, and so I am always on the look out for products that can help with that. Until recently, this only affected my face, but since I started playing golf, I have noticed that my hands have started to become dry and sore.

I have had these two hand creams for a while, but until recently rarely used them. However, once I started using them to soothe my sore hands, I become a little addicted, shall we say, so I thought that I would review them.

Shea Dry Skin Hand Cream

Product description from L’Occitane’s UK webstie: “A super-smoothing–and best-selling–synergy of 20% Shea Butter, honey and sweet almond extract, blended with the light and alluring aromas of jasmine and ylang-ylang essences.”

“Texturally pleasing balm glides on and miraculously absorbs to help heal and protect dry or dehydrated skin. Anti-oxidizing vitamin E helps nourish. Invites even the most hard-working hands to a fresh beginning.”

Of the two hand creams, the Shea Dry Skin Hand Cream has to be my favourite. I love how when you apply it to your hands, the cream is so thick and rich, but absorbs incredibly quickly and leaves no oil behind. Far too many hand creams leave an oily residue, leaving your hands feeling uncomfortably sticky.

I’m not a fan of products that are too heavily scented, which is why I am such a fan of this hand cream. It has a fresh, clean scent, but isn’t over powering, like so many other hand creams. Once I had applied it and let it work its magic, my hands looked visably less red and sore, and felt wonderfully suple and soft.

Cherry Blossom Hand Cream

Product description from L’Occitane’s UK webstie: “Enriched with shea butter, this creamy and non-greasy moisturiser nourishes and protects hands, leaving them delicately scented. Contains cherry extract from Luberon, Provence in France.”

Although I prefer the Shea Dry Hand Cream, I am still a real fan of the Cherry Blossom Hand Cream. The main difference between the two creams is that Cherry Blossom Hand Cream is lighter and more oily. However, even though it’s more oily when first applied, it absorbs just as quickly and leaves no residue behind.

With a floral scent that is light and fresh, Cherry Blossom Hand Cream smells gorgeous when applied. The cream might have a scent to it, but it isn’t too overpowering, which is ideal for me. Once I had applied the cream to my hands, they felt soft and soothed, and the redness visably reduced.

Overall, I love both of these products. They are both deeply moisturising, quick to absorb and ideal for keeping skin happy and healthy.
