How I Like To Save When Shopping Online

I don’t know about you, but when I’m shopping, I like to try to save as much money as possible. It’s not that I can’t afford to pay full price for products, it’s just that if there’s a deal or discount on offer, I like to take advantage of it. After all, there’s no point paying more for something than you need to, now is there?

My Grandma always said, take care of the pennies and pounds will take care of themselves. What this means is that even by making a few small savings, the savings will soon add up. I love this saying because it’s so true – by saving money on an item, you have more money to spend on other things.

I must admit, I am a bit of a penny pincher – if there’s a deal on offer, I can sniff it out. That’s thanks to my days as a student – living on just a few pounds a week forces you to reevaluate your shopping skills and learn how to save as much money as possible.

I like to shop the sales

To ensure that I don’t miss any of my favourite store’s sales, I sign up to email updates. That way, when there is a sale on, I receive an email about it. Although not every item goes on sale when there is a sale on, often many of the most popular items do. So this means that if there’s something I’ve been eyeing up – be it clothes or a new rug for the living room, I’m able to get it for a lower price than normal.

I use discount sites

There are some fantastic websites out there that offer year-round discounts. These sites group together all the very best deals and put them in one place, so that you can see what products you can make the best savings on. I love these sites because they make it incredibly easy to make savings. One of my favourite websites for this is Every Day Is Black Friday, because they always have such great discounts on offer.

I take advantage of reward programs

Another way I like to save money when shopping online is via reward programs. There are plenty of cashback reward programs that you can use when shopping online. Once you’ve signed up to them, you can see how much cashback they’re offering on certain items. So, say, for instance, I want to buy a coffee machine – I’m a big coffee addict, I’ll look at which machine comes with the best cashback, and will go for that one. As long as it’s a good make and model, that is. (Top tip: always research any product before buying it – don’t just buy it because it’s cheap.)

Believe it or not, saving money when shopping online is much easier than you would think. It’s just a case of being smart about how you go about it, that’s all.
