Galentine’s Day is just a few days away. This year I’m celebrating February 13th – aka the day of female friendship – by teaming up with my Galentine and blogging gal pal, Hannah from Not Another Blog.

Hannah and I usually get together a few times a year for blogging days at our favourite coffee shops and co-working spaces, as well as attending a number of blogger events throughout the year. Thanks to the pandemic, this past year has been a little different, and instead of meeting face-to-face, we’ve been holding Zoom catch-ups.

It was during one of these Zoom chats that we decided to team up for Galentine’s Day on a blog post sharing all of our favourite products for a virtual ‘girls’ night in’, along with a few pointers for how to host the perfect virtual pamper night.

What products would I recommend for the ultimate pamper night?

Start with a relaxing bath…

The first step of any pamper night has got to be a relaxing bath. There’s no better way to let the stresses and strains of the day melt away.

Lush Love Boat Bath Bomb | £4.50

All aboard the Lush Love Boat. How cute is this boat-shaped bath bomb from Lush? It’s actually one of my favourite Lush products

When you immerse it in your bath, streams of pink and yellow foam spurt out, while the small hearts from the bottom of the boat gently float to the surface, while a subtle citrus scent is released. Love boat gently bobs up and down, eventually spurting out plumes of blue and purple foam, transforming your bath into a pastel-hued haven, dotted with specks of glitter.

It’s not a pamper night without a Lush bath bomb, is it?

Lush Peachy Bath Bomb | £4.95

One of the original Lush Valentine’s Day emoji bath bombs from 2018, Peachy is still a firm favourite of mine three years on.

It smells wonderfully fresh and fruity, and like the name suggestions, rather peachy with a warm, woody undertone. Packed full of grapefruit oil, davana oil, elemi and tagetes oil, along with lashings of fresh peach juice, this emoji-inspired bath bomb has plenty of skin-nourishing ingredients running through it.

When it hits the water, Peachy begins to gently fizz, with swirls of pink, orange and yellow streaming out of it, turning the bath the colour of a pink sunset.

No time for a bath? How about a steaming hot shower…

Lush Prince Charming | £7.00

No time for a relaxing bath? Start your pamper night off with a steaming hot shower and a squirt of Lush’s Prince Charming shower gel. It’s no secret that Snow Fairy is my absolute favourite Lush shower gel but Prince Charming comes in at a close second.

The tangy, fresh scent of the pomegranate and grapefruit combined with the softness of the vanilla pod and marshmallow root creating a perfect balance between fruity and fresh.

The marshmallow root and vanilla pod soothe the skin, thanks to their anti-inflammatory properties. The grapefruit oil cleanses and brightens the skin, while sandalwood calms the skin, geranium tones and balances, while the fresh pomegranate juice cleanses and brightens the skin.

Time to cleanse…

The next step for the ultimate pamper is to focus on facial cleansing.

Nip + Fab Teen Skin Fix Pore Blaster Wash | £6.99

It’s not a pamper night without deep cleansing your skin, is it? Nip + Fab Teen Skin Fix Pore Blaster Wash is a product I use regularly to help combat my problem skin. It’s a powerful facial wash packed full of antibacterial extracts designed to help prevent breakouts, and honestly it works wonders.

For skin that’s in need of detoxing, it’s the perfect pamper product. Apply a small squirt of the gel onto your fingertips and gently massage into damp skin, being careful to avoid the delicate eye area. The green-hued gel quickly turns into a rich lather, removing impurities, dirt and excess oil, unclogging pores and leaving your skin feeling cleaner, clearer, and smoother.

Upcircle Coffee Face Scrub Floral Blend | £12.99

When it comes to skincare, exfoliating your skin is a crucial step to achieving happy, healthy skin, and no pamper night is complete without a face scrub. When it comes to face scrubs, you can’t do better than Upcircle’s repurposed Arabica coffee ground face scrubs; they’re vegan, cruelty-free and enriched with shea butter and coconut oil, and they smell absolutely amazing.

Shake the tube, squeeze a small amount of the scrub onto your fingertips, and gently apply to a damp face, using gentle circular motions to exfoliate your skin.

Post-scrub, your skin is left feeling smooth, soft, and wonderfully fresh – and it smells incredible. For anyone will oily skin – or blemish-prone skin  – I’d definitely recommend it.

Let’s moisturise…

The next step is to hydrate your skin.

B&T Botanical Beauty Naked Lotion Bar | £12.00

This is a product that I make and sell myself as part of my side hustle, B&T Botanical Beauty. The B&T Naked Lotion Bar is a solid moisturiser comprising of beeswax, shea butter, cocoa butter, and coconut butter. All of the ingredients are ethically-sourced, cruelty-free, and organic and each bar is handmade and hand poured into botanical moulds.

While I am a little biased, I can honestly say that I have never used such a rich, buttery moisturiser bar. Designed to be used on hands, lips, face, and hair, this solid lotion bar gently glides over the skin, with the array of butters leaving skin wonderfully nourished and replenished, leaving the skin smelling softly of chocolatey cocoa butter.

L’Occitane Verbena Mandarin Melting Body Cream | £26.00

Anyone who knows me knows that I love, love, love orange-scented things, so when I heard that one of my favourite brands – L’Occitane – was launching a Verbena Mandarin range I was over the moon.

I am completely obsessed with this cream; the texture is just as the name implies it ‘melts’ onto the skin on application. It smells beautifully zingy, fresh and floral, and nourishes the skin wonderfully. It’s creamy, light, and soaks into the skin easily, without leaving a greasy residue.

L’Occitane Verbena Mandarin Melting Hand Cream | £8.00

Part of the same range as the melting body cream above, the L’Occitane Verbena Mandarin Hand Cream is another firm favourite of mine. I’m never without a L’Occitane hand cream; I love how wonderfully nourishing they are and how many scents there are to choose from.

Giving your hands a pamper is a must as part of any pamper night, and this L’Occitane hand cream is the perfect product. It’s light and fluffy thanks to its whipped consistency, it has a wonderfully fresh and fruity scent and offers fantastic hydration without leaving a greasy residue.

And relax…

Lush Rose Argan Massage Bar | £8.00

One of the Lush Valentine’s Day range products, the Rose Argan Massage Bar is designed to aid relaxation and massage the skin. Whether you’re massaging yourself or someone else, this little bar is the perfect accompaniment.

Made with ruby cocoa liquor, argan oil, and rose water, it’s wonderfully creamy and moisturising, and glides seamlessly across the skin. The scent is a combination of argan and Lush’s famous ‘rose jam’, creating a beautifully subtle, floral scent.

Fat And The Moon Dream Weaver Mist | £9.95

Whenever I want to relax and unwind, I reach for my Fat And The Moon Dream Weaver Mist. A couple of spritz of this bad boy and I can feel myself starting to relax; my mind calms and my body stills. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a restful night’s sleep; it’s unlike any normal pillow spray.

Let’s talk about planning a virtual girls’ night in… How can you host the perfect Galentine’s Day pamper party via Zoom?

Encourage everyone to have a stock of their favourite nibbles to hand, along with their go-to tipple. The more luxurious the better. My perfect combo would be chocolate coated strawberries – can you get a more indulgent treat?! – and either a glass of prosecco or an elderflower gin and tonic.

Suggest that everyone has a selection of different pamper products to use, such as a face mask, bath bomb, hand cream, and face scrub. If you all have the same product types to use, you can enjoy using the same products at the same time. (Alternatively, you could put together pamper packs for everyone, so that everyone has the exact same items to use.)

Keep it casual and have fun. The main goal for a pamper night is to relax and have fun with your friends, and a virtual pamper party shouldn’t be any different.
