Whether it’s your first date or your fiftieth, it’s only natural that on date night, you want to look your best. Date night beauty is all about making yourself look and feel amazing. So that when you walk in to meet your date, you ooze confidence and look so good that he can’t resist you. (That’s the dream, right girls?)

To help you ensure that you look and feel fantastic on your next date, I thought that I would share a few tips. These are all things that I swear by, and find super helpful when it comes to date night confidence.

Go for a spray tan

If you plan on wearing something that shows off some of your arms or legs, make sure to get a spray tan a couple of days beforehand. You might be thinking a spray tan, is that really necessary? Yes, it is, if you want a body that looks toned and contoured.

You see, fake tanning not only adds colour to your skin but also subtly contours your body, making you look slimmer. Need a date night confidence boost – a spray tan is definitely it. If you don’t have time for a spray tan, have a look online and learn about the product best for body contour, that can be used at home. (There are plenty of contouring tutorials online, so don’t stress.)

Do your nails

The day before your date, get your nails done so that it’s one less thing to think about. You can do your nails yourself, or you can get them done by a beautician, depending on the type of nail design you want. For nails that will last well and not chip, your best bet is gel nails – they’re strong, chip-resistant, and best of all, look natural.

Have a pamper bath

A couple of hours before your date, run a bath. Fill the tub with warm water – you don’t want it too hot else you’ll turn pink, and add some bath salts. (To help you de-bloat, bath salts are amazing as they remove the excess water and toxins from your body.) While you’re in the bath, wash and condition your hair, cleanse and exfoliate your face and body, and de-fuzz.

Spritz yourself

Once you’ve dried off and got dressed, the next step is to spritz yourself in your favourite perfume. As well as popping a little on your wrists and neck, spray it in the air and then walk into the mist. You could also spray it on your hair. However, you don’t want to end up smelling too strong. (The stronger the perfume is, the less you’ll need to use.)

Beautify your hair

How you chose to wear your hair will probably depend on the type of date that you’re going on. If you’re doing something active, like bowling, then an updo is your best bet. If, however, you’re just going for dinner, you can wear your hair in any style. If you plan on wearing your hair in a style that you haven’t tried before, make sure to practice it a couple of times beforehand.

Pick the perfect makeup look

And last but not least, get your makeup look spot on. Regardless of where you’re going, be it a fancy restaurant or out for a few cocktails, you don’t want your makeup to be over the top. You simply want to make your face look bright and beautiful, and your makeup as natural as possible.

Under your makeup, pop a primer on to help hold your foundation in place. After applying your base – bb cream or foundation, then set with translucent powder. Follow with blusher and bronzer, and then carefully highlight your cheeks, cupid’s bow and the bridge of your nose. Once you’ve done that, the next step is to focus on your eyes. A small amount of neutral eyeshadow, a little liner, and some mascara is all you need for a pretty, natural look.
