A couple of weeks ago, while scrolling through my Twitter feed, I came across a Tweet from the lovely Hannah, from The Mermaid Life. She was on the lookout for bloggers to colab with, and as I had never done a collaboration post before, I couldn’t wait to get involved.

After a couple of days of sending messages back and forth, coming up with ideas, we settled on writing a post on our 10 favourite beauty products. The creams, balms and makeup that I use changes from month to month – I’m always trying out new things, but these 10 wonderful products are my current favourites.

L’Occitane Shea Dry Skin Hand Cream

During the winter especially, I suffer from incredibly dry hands. To keep my hands feeling soft and supple, I have a few different creams that I swap between. At the moment however, this Shea hand cream is definitely one of my favourites. I did a full review of this recently, which you can read here.

Benefit Some Kinda Gorgeous Foundation

A firm favourite of mine, Benefit’s Some Kinda Gorgeous Foundation has been in my makeup bag for the last 12 months. I’ve never been a fan of too much coverage – if I’m honest, I’m more of a BB cream girl, than a foundation one. However, as this foundation gives super light coverage, it’s perfect for me. Plus, as I suffer from a shiny t-zone, the fact that this is a cream-to-powder foundation is ideal as it gets rid of any shininess as soon as it’s applied. I had never spent £24.50 on a foundation before, but I am so pleased that I splashed out. You can buy it here on the Benefit UK website.

Jack Wills Radford Nail Varnish, Agave

I got this last year as a Christmas present, but until recently had not used it. I wasn’t keen on the colour at first, but over the past few months it’s grown on me, and is a new favourite of mine. It is super easy to apply, although you do end up with a little too much on the brush at once. The polish not only goes on well but also dries super quickly and best of all, gives great coverage with just one coat. I will most probably be wearing this polish all through the Autumn, and maybe the winter, too. Sadly, I could not find a link to this on the Jack Wills site. However, you can find these in your local store for around £6 a bottle.

Osmo Salt Spray

I have long hair, it’s neither straight nor curly – it’s in between the two. I have tried various sprays, mousses and gums to try and push it one way or the other – sleek and straight or voluminous and curly, but have had little success. That was until I came across this salt spray – just like it says on the bottle, it transforms my hair into beautiful beach waves. The best thing about it is that unlike many other hair products, it doesn’t make my hair crunchy. Right now, it is one of my go to products –  I am so in love with what it does to my hair. If you want to try this salt spray out, you can buy it here for £7.48.

Burt’s Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Cream

As I mentioned above, my hands get dry super easily. While I always carry a light hand cream around with me, this thicker cream – more of a salve really – is great for when my hands are in really poor shape. It might take a few minutes to properly absorb, but it’s more than worth the wait – it’s like a hand healer. I recently wrote a full review of this hand cream – you can find the review here

Forever Living Aloe Vera Scrub

I am aloe vera mad – partly because I run a small aloe vera beauty business, and also because I love what it does for my skin. I suffer from eczema as well as dry skin, and my aloe products have been a godsend. This exfoliating scrub has changed the look and feel of my skin completely – it’s so much smoother and healthier. I rarely get blemishes, but when I do, a bit of this, and they disappear within hours. Of all the face scrubs that I’ve tried this is 100 percent my favourite. Priced at just over £13 it might seem a little pricey, but mine has lasted me months.

Salon Services Paddle Brush

My hair is incredibly long – it pretty much reaches my waist, there’s a lot of it, but it’s very fine. Ever since I can remember, it’s always tangled easily. I’ve tried almost everything you can imagine to stop it from knotting- my mum’s a hairdresser so she got me all the best stuff, but no matter what, I always end up with tangles. That was until I got my new hairbrush – a paddle brush that has been amazing at keeping my hair tangle-free. Yes, even better than my Tangle Teezer, and that’s saying something!

Laqa & Co. Lip Lube Pencil, Bees Knees

I got sent this lip pencil from Birchbox to review last year, and have been in love with it ever since. I’m not the kind of girl who wears lipstick – it just doesn’t look right on me, but I love lip balms. As this pencil is half lipstick, half lip balm, it’s perfect for me. The colour – Bees Knees, works wonderfully with my pale skin tone. It’s easy to apply, has a soft minty scent which I love, and lasts well. Sadly, Bees Knees has been discontinued in the UK, but there are lots of other colours to choose from. You can pick these up for £14 each from Birchbox

L’Occitane Lavande Hand Purifying Gel

When it comes to germs I am a little OCD, but I hate the strong scents of most hand sanitisers. The sting my nose and eyes, and the smell always seems to hang around for hours. I don’t know about you, but I find that these gels also dry out my hands. The L’Occitane Lavande Purrifying Hand Gel however, is different. It has a gentle lavender scent – not a hint of that nasty alcohol smell. And, best of all, it doesn’t dry out my hands. At £6 for a 30ml tube, it is double the price of most sanitisers, but it’s worth spending the extra.

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm

I have recently rediscovered Burt’s Bees product and I am crazy about them. One of the main reasons for this is because they are 100% natural. I get chapped lips incredibly easily, and always like to have a pot of lip balm to hand. At the moment this beeswax lip balm from Burt’s Bees is my favourite – it’s easy to apply, smells yummy and works wonders for my lips. I am obsessed with this lip balm at the moment, I love it!
