beauty brawl

You might remember that just before Christmas, I helped to organise a special blogger collaboration called ‘Blogger’s Christmas Beauty Brawl’. Well, for summer I’ve brought it back again, except that this time it’s called ‘Blogger’s Beauty Brawl: 10 Days of Summer’. This time around it’s just me in charge, as sadly, Zoe from Mad About Makeup is unable to take part.

Last time there ended up being just five bloggers taking part but this time there should be at least 10 of us getting involved. Once again it’s going to be a fun few days with lots of fantastic reviews on offer of products that you may or may not have tried before.

What is the Blogger’s Beauty Brawl: 10 Days of Summer?

Basically, it’s a review series where a group of UK and US beauty bloggers will be collaborating. Over the next 10 days, we will be reviewing one product a day. Each day it will be a different type of product, such as a mascara. There may be some overlaps with products from popular brands as we won’t know what the other bloggers are reviewing until their posts go live.

Now it’s time to tell you about the fun part, to score our products we will be using Top Trumps cards! Each item will be scored out of 100 for three things; packaging, the product itself, and price. More in-depth reviews of each product will be posted underneath the Top Trumps card.

Who else will be joining in?

This time around we have a couple of the lovely ladies who joined the original Blogger’s Beauty Brawl joining us, as well as some new bloggers. I’ve popped a list of their blogs below so that you can have a little browse.

What will we be reviewing?

This time around we’re reviewing some great products; from face masks to makeup setting spray. At the theme of this collaboration is summer, I chose items that are summer essentials. These include makeup and skincare products, however, most of which are makeup items rather than beauty ones. What can I say, I’m a makeup addict!

Day one: Face mask

Day two: Brow product

Day three: Primer

Day four: Bronzer

Day five: Eyeshadow palette

Day six: Blush

Day seven: Lipstick

Day eight: Makeup setting spray

Day nine: Tinted moisturiser or BB cream

Day ten: Lip balm

Are the products high-end or drugstore?

They can be either high-end or drugstore, it doesn’t matter. This doesn’t affect the fairness of the collaboration, as while some drugstore products are of a lower quality than high-end ones, so would be marked lower under ‘the product itself’, they’d get a higher mark for ‘price’ as they are much more budget-friendly. Whereas high-end products might get a high score for quality but a low one for price. I hope that makes sense and I haven’t rambled too much!

The products I’m using are a combination of drugstore and high-end items, and I would imagine it would be the same for the other bloggers too. The idea is that the items we’re using are all products that we haven’t used before, to make it more fair.

Once again, I’ve been really pleased with most of my products. A couple of them may not make it into my everyday collection but the majority of them will do. This is what I love about the Blogger’s Beauty Brawl collaborations, they give me a chance to try out products that otherwise I would never buy.

Where can I keep up with all the posts from the Beauty Brawl?
This time around our Twitter and Instagram hashtag is #beautybrawl16. So if you want to keep up to date with all the posts and photos on social media, you’ll be able to find them under the hashtag.
