shaving-legs

We’d all like thicker more glossy hair on our head and even bushier eyebrows now they’re all the trend. But we most definitely don’t want hair anywhere near our lips, chin, bikini line or lower legs. Some people only have a few unwanted fine hairs here and there. But others may experience darker, heavier growth is places they most definitely don’t want it. Let’s take a look at some of the ways we can banish those hair follicles and dare to bare.

Facial Hair

Facial hair is often a taboo subject so there’s not as much information readily available as there should be. But if you are suffering, there are certainly ways you can get rid of and reduce the growth of facial hair.

Vaniqa cream is an FDA-approved treatment that has been clinically proven to slow the growth of facial hair. Vaniqa is applied twice a day while still maintaining your usual method of hair removal. But users have seen that in as little as 4-8 weeks their hair growth has slowed down, and they do not need to remove the hair as frequently.

Threading is a great option for removing upper lip hair and fuzzy chin growth. It’s quick, relatively painless and affordable. Threading is also kind to the skin and can remove everything from thick growth to the tiniest of hairs. If you want to remove hair yourself at home you may want to consider a Facial Hair Remover, of which you can read about here.

Or if you want to go to a clinic, have you considered dermaplaning? Dermaplaning has been used for many years but is one of the newer kids on the block when it comes to getting press. It’s a fantastic way of getting rid of peach fuzz. Dermaplaning works by exfoliating the surface of the skin and the fine hair using a precision blade. It also reveals healthier glowing skin by taking away dull, dead cells.

Laser treatment should be considered if you have thick dark hair as it works effectively on this kind of growth. It won’t work on fine blonde hair.

Body Hair

Legs, underarms, bikini lines… we’ve got areas where we wish we didn’t have hair! And nothing beats the feeling of silky smooth skin.

The coarse hair around your bikini line responds really well to waxing, and because it is pulled out at the root, it is more long lasting than shaving. You can choose a strip wax or a hot wax and hair regrowth won’t be noticeable for anywhere between 3-6 weeks.

For legs, the most common method is shaving, but you’ll have to do this every couple of days so you may want to consider waxing your legs too. If waxing is a no-no, you can use the good old fashioned method of depilatory cream for smooth legs that stay that way for about 1-2 weeks. But you’ll have to leave enough growth for these creams to work. If you want a longer lasting method you can do at home, you might want to consider getting an epilator. These devices pull hair out at the roots, and you won’t notice regrowth from anywhere between 2 weeks to a month.

And if you want to banish hair on your legs and under your arms forever you can opt for clinical laser treatment. This is the most pricey procedure, but it offers a long-term solution. Laser treatment works by beaming highly concentrated light into hair follicles which in turn kills the hair. In three to five sessions you will start to see permanent loss of hair.
