As you will know if you read my blog on a regular basis, my fiance and I have begun to plan our wedding for next October. We’ve been thinking a lot about what we want for our big day and have got most of the details nailed down. The one thing that we struggle a lot with was our honeymoon planning as there are just so many beautiful places that we could visit.

After a lot of Googling and bartering with each other, we have got it down to three destinations – we think that these three places are the most incredible destinations for a honeymoon as they’re just so beautifully romantic!

In case you’re still struggling to find your dream honeymoon destination, the guide below might help. These three destinations are all places that we would love to visit, it’s just a case of deciding which one would be best for us.

The Carribean

The fiance was lucky enough to visit the Carribean – more specifically, Antiga – when he was a teenager with his family and he has always said that he wants to take me there, so this is one of our favourite choices. The idea of visiting the Carribean has always appealed to me anyhow because when I was at school we did a project on St Lucia and I fell in love with everything about the culture and the landscape.

It might be a total stereotype but I cannot think of a better way to spend my honeymoon than sunbathing on a beach while sipping a rum-based cocktail and spending each evening eating an array of delicious seafood dishes while watching the sunset over the ocean. How romantic would that be? I had a browse on the Destination 2 website to get an idea of prices and I was surprised at how affordable this kind of trip could be.

The Balearic Islands

A little closer to home than the Carribean but just as beautiful, the Balearic Islands are another option that we have been considering for our honeymoon. I’ve spent many happy summers in Menorca and Ibiza and I know that either of these beautiful islands would make the ideal honeymoon destination.

In Ibiza, it would be the non-party end of the island, of course – many people don’t realise just how incredible areas like Portinatx are and how rural they can be compared to the other end of the island which is rather over commercialised. In Menorca, areas like Son Bou, Cala’n Bosch and Cala’n Blanes are my favourites. There are some beautiful beaches here, amazing restaurants and bars, and of course, two incredible water parks – the fiance and I are big fans of water slides so this is a major bonus for us.

South France

I’ve been all over France, from Roscoff to Nice, and I love every part of this amazing country. I love the landscape, the culture and the heritage, not to mention the amazing food and incredible wines. A honeymoon in the South of France could be amazing, whether it was in Nice, St Tropez or Provence it wouldn’t matter, the entire south coast of France is incredible.

We still aren’t set on our honeymoon choice, but these are three of our favourite options.
